Wigan Athletic owner Dave Wheelan has resided to the fact that the transfer of Victor Moses to Chelsea FC is imminent. It’s thought that a fee of around £8.5 million has been outlined with a possibility of rising to £10 million. Question is when and where will he play?
Also on the verge joining the European champions from FC Porto is Uruguayan full back Alvaro Pereira, Pereira has been a Chelsea target since former Chelsea manager AVB was at the helm at Stamford Bridge. According to Pereira’s agent he was quoted saying “We are due to hold an important meeting with Porto, but I do not want to speculate on what the outcome will be,” Alejandro Savich told Maisfutebol.
Also on the Stamford Bridge hit list is Spanish full back Cesar Azpilicueta from Olympique Marseille. According to the Marseille president a serious approach in the region of £8 million has been tabled with the possibility of a swap deal with Chelsea’s Gael Kakuta going the other way.
After an £18 million pound transfer from Anderlecht in the 2010-2011 season to Chelsea and just 12 starts last season Romelu Lukaku has joined WBA on a season long loan, not many clubs have an £18 million pound player sent out on loan! So let’s hope this is beneficial for him.
Josh Mc Eachran’s £30,000 a week nightmare/dream is set to be drawn out again with yet more speculation as to where the 19-year-old left footed mid fielder will be playing this season. There’s talk of a shorter loan spell but for the interest of player development why does’nt Chelsea FC send him to either Germany, Italy or Spain? No brainer for me rocket science for CFC apparently! Which only strengthens the argument of having a competitive reserve league based on the Spanish model and other European countries. This gives young players the opportunity to play regular football on a higher more competitive level which is why Germany and Spain have such good young teams with more strength in-depth.
Well this ones going to be strange, even me myself almost forgot about the usually most anticipated opener to the Premier League season. Due to the London 2012 Olympic’s the Community shield this year is in Birmingham at Villa Park. Nice day today though so hopefully it won’t make a difference, we probably wont see Marko Marin through injury and new signing Oscar but here’s the predicted line up.
