Last night at the Grosvenor Hotel Mayfair Central London Tottenham FC‘s Gareth Bale picked up both awards, The Players Football Award and The Young Players Award are voted by fellow footballers. Gareth Bale becomes the third player to receive both prestigious awards following Andy Gray and Christiano Ronaldo and joins an elite list of players that have won the PFA twice.

Although there where some that thought Aston Villa‘s Christian Benteke the Chelsea FC Belgian duo Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard or Manchester  United’s Danny Welbeck should have won the YPFA.
Gareth Bale has scored 29 goals in 48 matches 19 Premier League goals 10 assists and 9 yellow cards (mainly for you know what) Not to forget how much of a key role Bale has played for his country “Wales” and his inclusion in Team GB‘s Olympic squad he’s had a more than eventful season question is can he do it again next season?

Also on the night the first Woman’s PFA Award was presented to Arsenal’s Kim Little who was also part of the Women’s Olympic Team GB that reached the quarter finals in the London 2012 Olympics. This also marks Women being included into the PFA as of next season 2013-2014 season.

And just to jazz the night up The Football Association thought it would by great fun to get an American comedian by the name of  Reginald D Hunter to perform without vetting his stage act prior to his performance. This resulted in the top brass of the FA having to sit through his performance hearing the use of the N word and Luis Suarez jokes. Great research by the FA in a year where racism in football has been problematic to say the least and just to throw one last bit of wood into the fire Luis Suarez’s name was booed at the prestigious awards event when his name was announced. Looks like someone at the FA is going to get some hair dryer treatment this week lol.

Here’s the team of the season
